One consistent theme. If\u00a0VivaTech\u00a0Paris and GITEX AI Europe Berlin made anything clear,\u00a0it&#8217;s\u00a0that third-party risk has stopped being a niche compliance concern and become a boardroom-level question, across every market we visited.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s\u00a0what came up again on the floor and why it matters as we head into B2B Tech Asia in Jakarta :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8220;We Have a Vendor List. We Don&#8217;t Have Vendor Confidence&#8221;\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was, by far, the most common\u00a0framing\u00a0from conversations at both events. Companies\u00a0aren&#8217;t\u00a0short on vendor data;\u00a0they have spreadsheets, questionnaires, and risk registers going\u00a0back\u00a0years. What they\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0have is confidence that any of it reflects current reality.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That gap between\u00a0<em>having data<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>trusting data<\/em>\u00a0is exactly the problem a verification-first approach is built to close.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI Is Everywhere in the Conversation,\u00a0Including the Risk Side\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Unsurprisingly, AI dominated the conversation at both\u00a0VivaTech\u00a0and GITEX AI Europe. But the angle security leaders kept returning to\u00a0wasn&#8217;t\u00a0&#8220;how do we use AI faster&#8221;, but\u00a0it was &#8220;how do we assess the AI vendors we&#8217;re already bringing in.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New AI tools are being adopted faster than most\u00a0procurement\u00a0and security teams can properly\u00a0vet\u00a0them.\u00a0That&#8217;s\u00a0created a fresh wave of third-party risk that\u00a0didn&#8217;t\u00a0exist in this form even two years ago: vendors whose core product is a model nobody outside their walls can fully audit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regulation Is No Longer a Europe-Only Conversation\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At GITEX AI Europe specifically, we heard from teams\u00a0operating\u00a0across the EU, UK, and Gulf region who were tracking NIS2 and DORA obligations alongside region-specific frameworks. The pattern was clear: multinational teams\u00a0don&#8217;t\u00a0want five different compliance processes for five different regions. They want one verification standard that can flex across\u00a0jurisdictions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s\u00a0a theme we expect to hear again in Jakarta,\u00a0where APAC-specific frameworks add another layer for teams\u00a0operating\u00a0regionally.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What This Means Heading\u00a0into\u00a0B2B Tech Asia\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">akarta brings a different mix of conversations: rapid digital growth, cross-border vendor relationships, and compliance teams often\u00a0build\u00a0TPRM processes from scratch rather than modernizing an existing one.
